help! battery problem!

Ive had my t42p for about a year now, and i seem to be having some issues with the battery. According to the maximizer gauge its taking a full charge, yet when im on battery, once it goes below 20% it plummets to 5% like 2 seconds later and goes into hibernation. Whats going on? Should i try to recondition the battery?

without a doubt try reconditioning, it can't hurt. if that does not work, a new batery might be in order.

Thanks for the advice, ill try that out. I will be very dissapointed with IBM if this doesn't work and i need a new battery. I just got my t41p about a year ago. Its supposed to have a 3 year warranty on it, does that include the battery?

The battery always has a one year warranty.
