T43p with CHC and iTunes

#1 Post by ibm_phil » Fri Sep 30, 2005 7:57 pm

I installed CHC on my T43p a month ago, and it seems to work fine on dynamic switching, and i havnt tried to push the voltages etc down too low, just normal. All programs work fine except iTunes. Before CHC i never had a problem listening to music. With CHC on dynamic switching and the iTunes playing after a few songs the music starts to get distorted and to slow down. Is that a problem with my sound card? If on max performance it doesnt do it. The strange thing is if i click next song it seems to reset the problem and go back to normal playing, then after 30mins or so it does it again.

Very strange? anyone else had this problem? any ideas?

Thanks,
Phil.

Just out of sheer blind curiosity have you tried reinstalling iTunes? I don't much like the program but I can't think of a reason it would do this. I've experienced no such behavior on my T43p with anything.

i "second" the reinstall idea..
FWIW, it sounds like a memory leak of some sort..
not hardware..

Ok, after installing iTunes 5.0 and listening to music for a few hours now with CHC on dynamic switching it seems to be fine. Somehow the older version of iTunes didnt like when my voltage was low and as you said bill the memory or something was leaking maybe. This was the first ever problem i have encounted with my T43p and im glad it is software, not a hardware thing.
Thanks for your help guys,
Phil.

Well i thought installing iTunes 5.0 solved the problem, but it didnt. Maybe it is not software, does any think it might be a hardware thing? It is not as bad as before, seems to take longer to occur and not as bad, but the music playing continously will begin to slow down and get what sounds like interference. Every other programs works fine and i have noticed any other problems with other programs. My laptop is still running fast and i can process large images without a problem, so its just the sound.

Thanks,
Phil.

I use a T43p at work and I have no problems running CHC and iTunes. Why don't you try reinstalling CHC with the latest version? If that doesn't work contact IBM support.

Good luck.
