How to disable search for security chip when booting up T42.

#1 Post by Rod1105 » Mon Oct 03, 2005 8:44 pm

At one time I had enabled the client security chip logon feature on my T42 but decided to disable it after a while. I went into the BIOS to turn off the chip but upon boot up the system is still trying to access the chip before aborting, which slows down the boot process by 20-30 seconds. No biggy but does anybody know how I can turn off this check on the embedded security chip?

Thanks!

You probably need to uninstall the Client Security Software or ThinkVantage Rescue & Recovery version 3 or both.

Thanks for your reply - that did the trick. I suspected it would require a deinstall of something but I needed to be sure.

Thanks again!
