T42p Motherboard WANTED!! PLEASE :)

#1 Post by Sci-Clone » Tue Oct 04, 2005 6:17 pm

Hello all! :) To start I would like to say that Bill is the man! I bought a T42p 2373-GVU from him last summer and that was the best laptop I've ever had the chance to touch. Keyword = "was". A couple of days ago I opened it up to use and there was moisture all over the screen. As I picked it up water fell off. There was pieces of paper towel all over the keyboard (signs that someone tried to dry it). Well, it fried, obviously. After a couple of days of frustration and depression, I still could not find out what happened. My roomate swore he didnt do it but Im still suspicous. Anyway, I cannot prove that it was him so I guess I just have to suck it up and deal with it. However, I loved that laptop way too much to just let it go. So here is why I am writting this:

If anyone know of a T42p motherboard for sale PLEASE contact me as soon as you can. The motherboard that fried had a ATI FrieGL T2 on it, but it doesnt have to be that exact one.

Well, I guess all I can do now is sit and wait. Thank you for your time everyone!
Have a wonderful day! :D

Well it is an expensive machine. If it was not your roommate who could have it been? Anyone else have access to your stuff?

Anyways, if I were you I would file a police report for destroyed property.
Who knows may be they can do a finger print test or DNA test. I wish you will find the person who did this and did not have the guts to admit their fault.

Anyways. Good luck with the new motherboard.

I'm sorry I can't help, but I did want to say that you're taking this WAY better than I would have under the same circumstances! Good luck

This kind of thing is why my TP is always locked in the minidock up on a shelf when I'm not around. Sorry that doesn't help with your problem though. :(
