Thinkpad T43 Unable to power up after charging

My T43 is brand new. After full charge (with the battery pad installed), it wouldn't start as it appears it has no power.

Battery is brand new, battery manager shows no problem.

It will start up again if I remove the battery and just plug in the AC power cord. Then I re-insert the battery and power level showed 100% on the battery. Battery was ok as far as using it from that point on.

Problem is repeatable as it happens twice already after every AC charge with the battery pack installed.
