Latest version of Notebook Hardware Control (formerly CHC)..

#1 Post by NeoteriX » Mon Oct 10, 2005 9:58 pm

Just a heads up guys -- the wonderful power management utility, Notebook Hardware Control (formerly Centrino Hardware Control) is out -- Version 1.9 Beta 3, with some pretty neat little tweaks like the ability to see the temps in Farenheight :) and some other stuff.

Thanks for the heads up. It's good to see development continue on this great product. Once the author gets fan control working on the T43 I will gladly pay the 15 euros for the professional edition.

Notebook Fan Control:
With Notebook FAN Control you can change (if supported) the turn ON and OFF temperatures of the CPU FAN to have a more silent notebook . At the time Notebook FAN Control is compatible with Samsung P35, 30; some ASUS M2N and M6N and other Notebook with similar hardware. If FAN Control does not work on your Notebook please don't desperate. I will extend the Notebook FAN Control compatibility :-)
So i don't desperate

Ibm/Lenovo should be the one that fix this problem. Maybe we should start a petition or something, because we are being ignored.

The question is : Can they do anything ?

Are the switching temperatures updatable through an enbedded controller update ?

Because all they can do is changing these swtching temps...

I once chated with someone who said that on linux it is not a problem, and that he can turn the fan on and off as he like, as well as monitor the temps and have a program do it for him according to the temps. So it is controlable. Through the linux ACPI.

If wine was any good, I would have long kissed windows goodbye. (But what can I do that most programs are written for windows, and linux programs are also available in a windows version too.)
