Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card?

#1 Post by gforce » Fri Oct 14, 2005 12:06 am

Hi guys,

I have a T43 which is powered by a 64MB ATi x300 based card. I was wondering if it is possible to procure a x600/x700 based card and plug it into my notebook's mobo.
Has anyone tried doing that?
Current: 1. T400 - 14" WXGA+ LED - T9400 - 4GB DDR3 - 320GB HDD - Mobility Radeon 3470
2. T42 - 14" XGA - P-M 745 - 1.5 GB - 60GB HDD - Radeon 9000 - biometrics
Previous: ThinkPad T43, X32, X61, R50e

Sorry, but the answer is no. You can't upgrade the graphics on Thinkpads.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.

on the Thinkpad T40/41/42/43 the video card is rather integrated IGP (intel video) or external gpu but soldered into the system board, so there is no way to upgrade / replace the video card, sadly.
