Module voltage...??

#1 Post by Thinkpad315 » Fri Oct 14, 2005 8:22 pm

Is Module Voltage the same as 'CAS Latency'...?? My T42 comes w/ 256RAM, (Module Voltage = SSTL 2.5)?? What is Memory Timings@ 166Mhz 2.5-3-3-7(CL-RCD-RP-RAS). And when ordering RAM, what is "ECC"..? Thanks

CAS (colum address strobe) is not related to the memory voltage (SSTL).

They are the same, cause this is a standard PC2700 DDR333 module, and the JEDEC voltage is 2.5volts, but the CAS value can be CAS2, CAS 2.5 or CAS3.0 depending on the manufacturer.

ECC is Error Correction Code, the RAM used mainly on servers, expensive, requieres a chipset that supports it. Doesnt apply to notebooks.
