IBM T43 And System Error Message 2010 With An IBM Disk Drive

#1 Post by Jonathan » Sun Oct 16, 2005 3:29 am

I have an IBM T43 1875 D9U Notebook Computer.

I purchased the 100 Gigabyte 5400 RPM Disk Drive from IBM.

The IBM Part Number is 40Y8716.

The 100 Gigabyte Disk Drive works fine, and I used the IBM System Recovery CD Disks to recreate my Windows XP System.

I am still receiving the System Error Message 2010 every time the Computer Boots up.

I upgraded the Computer to the Release 1.19 BIOS Release, but I am still receiving the System Error Message.

I thought with a Disk Drive from IBM that I would not receive the 2010 System Error Message.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to eliminate the 2010 System Error Message?

Have you contacted IBM Support on this? What did they say? One would think if they have no workable solution that either the drive or the laptop (or both) could be worked on under warranty and you would have a quick and (hopefully) permanent solution.

Good Luck,
