How long did it take for your Thinkpad to get to you?

I placed an order for a T43 a few days ago. When I ordered it said 2-4 weeks. I checked the order status and it says that the esimated ship date is 11/7/05. One month seems a bit high considering I ordered a pre-configured model. I don't think I can wait that long!

What was your estimated ship date and how long did it take for you to get your Thinkpad?

In my case, I selected 'in stock' model and ordered (T43p and T42)by IBM web.
T43p(2668-G3U) was estimated initially 4weeks in order status, but it was shipped within a week.
I ordered T42(2373-H6U)CTO model on 10/3 ,it showed 3weeks for shipping in web order status,but actually I received it on 10/10.

ordered it on a weekend...got it on the 3rd business day. (oh yeah free shipping too)

I ordered a T43P, 2668-Q2U, on October 4th. The shipping status has changed since then to say sometime in November, then it said October 21, then it said backordered, then it said 2 weeks, then it said packing, and now it says 2 weeks again!

7 weeks ... but it was a recent (Sept) CTO model which takes 2-3 weeks normally.

I got mine in less than 24 hours and my sales rep didn't even charge me for shipping!!! I guess it helps that I live only 30 minutes away from the Canadian distribution centre.

Ordered T42 on 10/12. Received docking station today (10/19) and the rest of the system shipped from Hong Kong yesterday. Delivery date not showing on web yet but I am hoping fir 10/24-25 if I am lucky, which will make 12-13 days including weekends.

I didn't complain, because IBM started ship most the p model like mid-May.
But during the long wait, I always imagine my t43p every hour each day.

Do yourself a favor, only track it once a day or every other day, or don't track it at all. Nothing was more frustrating the seeing it get shipped to one place, get delayed for the customs thing, shipped somewhere else, etc. etc. etc.

I've gotten three delivered in the past 2 months. They were all preconfigured systems. Usually shipped at just about 2 weeks after the order and then another 4 business days of shipping using UPS 2-day. They tell me to ignore the inaccurate dates on the website.

So you may be getting it sooner than you think.

By "they" I assume you mean someone you talked to over the phone. I had a CSR check the status for me over the phone and she told me "It's backordered, so it should be 3-4 weeks before it ships." The website's status now reflects that it's backordered as well, so I guess I'm going to be waiting a while :\
