Windows Vista Beta1 and T42
Re: Windows Vista Beta1 and T42
Here's an interesting article on someone who actually installed Windows Vista Beta1 onto their Thinkpad T42... basically had no problem!

That said, however, I'm getting concerned how soon Lenovo will come out with Windows Vista compatable Software and Device Drivers (both 32-bit & 64 bit).
Updates to Software and Device Drivers have been very slow lately (OK, these are mature software so no need for many upgrades).

yeah I also tested vista beta 1 on a T42 and worked fine. no slowdowns nor stability issues, but installing norton antivirus killed the OS

I assume you're using an SXGA+ display?
I actually believe the answer to this might be yes. The Avalon graphics engine is designed to be resolution-independent, or at least close to it. So you should be able to scale windows and other desktop elements without much compromise in quality or the weird anomolies you see when trying to do so in XP. And if this isn't built-into the OS, it should be easy for a 3rd party to do so.
Whether your thinkpad will be able to handle the rest of the graphical elements in a snappy-enough manner is another question, though.
