What happens to all those returned T43s?

What happens to all those returned T43s?

I've reading this fourm for some quite time now.
I noticed a lot of you guys ordered T43 and returned it for one reason or the other. This makes guys like me who is waiting for a new T43 to arrive. Are those returned T43s just being shipped out to the other people who ordered the samething? What does IBM/Lenovo do with all those returned T43s?

If they are unopened (Security tape still intact), they can be sold as new. I have one of those right now, that I'm returning on monday.

As far as those opened... they will likely end up being sold slightly cheaper via other channels (certified, educational, etc. etc.) who will buy one used for a little less.

They are most likely stripped down, parts put into bins and then the parts get used into new builds. Most companies do this with returns of newer stuff.

They likely will rip a few apart for parts.

They tend to do that with inventory left over after a line is canceled too. Just buy back the rest of the inventory, and tear them apart.

All opened boxes would be sold as refurbished or used .. never new.
