Under the bluetooth configuration page, I manage to get my nokia 6230 paired with the T43, but on the last page of the 'Get connected' configuration page, it shows
Connection setup complete
You have now the follow Bluetooth connections available:
And the list is empty...
That's left with only a Finish button and the connection is not listed.
I have no problem connecting with my previous laptop (HP) with the same phone and software (Nokia PC Suite v6.6), so I guess maybe there are some extra tweaking to be done on the T43's bluetooth configuration.
Is there any setting I have to tweak under Control Panel->Bluetooth configuration Local Services tab / Client Application Tab?
Thanks !
How to connect a Nokia 6230 to a T43 via Bluetooth?

how to make your Nokia phone and Thinkpad play nice ....
You need to download and install the correct version of Nokia PC Phone Suite. There is a Europe/Africa/Middle East version and a North America version. Check here if you got your 6230 in Europe or Africa or here if you bought in the US/Canada. Note that you MUST get the right version of Nokia Suite for Bluetooth connection to work.
The North American and Europe/Africa/Middle East versions of the app seemed different to me. I had access to a phone from Europe and could not get it to work with the North American version of the app ( from nokiausa.com rather than nokia.com ). If you get the wrong one, you will also probably find that some stuff will not work ( including important stuff like Bluetooth ). I had this problem which sounds similar to the one that you have and the only way I could eventually get mine working is with an un-install of the North American version of the app and some messing around in the registry ( apparently, the un-installer forgets to go root around in the registry for stuff the app put there ) before doing a new install of the European version. It was not fun. Another spanner in the works is that is seems that some versions of PC Suite support only serial, usb, infrared or Bluetooth connections or some combination of these but not all of the connectivity types. My hypothesis is that this is because Nokia ships out / points users to versions of the app geared towards specific phones i.e. if you indicate that you have a phone with only USB capability, they point you to a version with USB capability only, if you indicate that you have a phone with only infra-red and USB capability, they point you to a version with infra-red and usb, .... ad nauseam.
With the correct version, you will have access to the phone via 3 methods:
- Over a DKU-5 USB cable. This is the the best method, allows all kinds of tricks including flashing the phone and pulling down operator logos and such like, great for breaking your phone at OS or even hardware level.
- Infra-red. The port should be at the front of your Thinkpad, this seemed to work best for me. Since the connection is line of sight, most slight movements of either the laptop or the phone will kill your connection.
- Bluetooth. I got this working but really did not play much with this. I had to give up the phone.
If you find that infra-red works perfectly but Bluetooth does not, the problem is probably your version of PC Suite.
Its worth mentioning that a version of PC Suite that came with an older phone might also be the culprit. I originally had the version of the app that came with a 6200 installed on my Thinkpad and when I tried to connect the 6230 with this version of the app, all I could access was my address book....., no message folders, images or videos etc.
