I purchased the IBM Part Number 40Y8716 which is the Hitachi 5400 RPM 100 Gigabyte IDE Disk Drive which is listed on the IBM Website as a valid IDE Disk Drive System Upgrade Option.
I assumed that by purchasing a valid listed IBM Disk Drive, that I would not then receive the System Error 2010 every time that I booted up the Computer.
After installing the new IBM Hitachi IDE Disk Drive I am still receiving the 2010 System Errors every time that I would Boot up the Computer System.
I then downloaded from the IBM System Support Website the Harddrive Firmware Release 11 System Software which was dated 10/13/2005.
I matched the Hitachi IDE Disk Drive with the Disk 14 of 18 Diskette which was the File Name FWHD3414.
The File contained the Disk Drive Firmware Upgrade for the HTS5410xxG9AT00 Disk Drive.
I then ran the FWHD3401.EXE System Program which created the Boot Floppy Disk which contained the System Boot Software and the Disk Drive Firmware Software.
I then Booted up the T43 Computer using an Iomega External USB Floppy Disk Drive.
The System Software Program Firmware Update Utility is Version 3.02.
The Program reads the Internal T43 Computer's IDE Primary Master as the HTS541010G9AT00 with the Firmware Version MBZOA60A.
I checked and this is the same Disk Drive Firmware that is on the Floppy Disk.
The System Message stated that Your Drive Does Not Require A Firmware Update.
I thought by purchasing a valid IBM IDE Disk Drive that I would avoid the 2010 System Error Message.
Then even after downloading an installing the Disk Drive Firmware Update Utility Program that created the Bootable Floppy Disk which contained the current Disk Drive Firmware for the Hitachi Disk Drive, I am still receiving the 2010 System Error Message.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve the 2010 System Error Message which I am still receiving?
Jonathan
