Fn+F3, turn screen off no longer works

#1 Post by NeoteriX » Tue Oct 25, 2005 5:47 pm

Like the subject says, for some reason, when I try pressing it, it flashes the "Please Wait Turning off Monitor" but it disappears and nothing happens. Any ideas?

Do you have a mouse connected?

Ah, yeah I neglected to mention that part. I do use a mouse, but have tried it without it connected. Withou tthe mouse, it doesn't disappear, but it still doesn't work. Sometimes the "preparing.... window just hangs there, sometimes it just doesn't show up at all

I've seen this happen a couple of times. If I remember correctly it was when a video was playing. You probably have some software running that is causing the problem. Try closing some programs first and see if you can narrow down which program is the culprit.

Did a reboot and no dice. Close some programs like launchdock, notebook hardware control, AIM, and a few others, but that hasn't helped either. Any ideas>
