New T43 - How can I figure out if I can add Bluetooth?

#1 Post by melloyelloww » Wed Oct 26, 2005 12:15 am

Just bought a new T43 2668-k9u

2ghz
15" SXGA Flexview
512
80gig Highspeed
CDRW/DVD
Modem
Wireless
Fingerprint

+ an 9cell battery for $1850 or so after tax etc (Computer was $1550)

QUESTION: How do I know if I have a Bluetooth antennae? I'm rethinking not getting Bluetooth but would be happy to add it rather then return and rebuy another computer.

Initial impressions (coming from Dell P4 with 1905fp monitor). THe screen is definitely less impressive next to the Dell LCD. The vertical viewing angle is much more sensitive then I thought it would be. The computer is snappy but not exactly a speed demon. I think I'll get used to it tho, I want it to be my main machine and the Thinkpads are known for reliability and thats what I'm after. I am going to upgrade to 1.5g of RAM soon tho.

Thanks guy, this forum has been a HUGE help.

Option 1:
Search the forums for "tabook" and find out if your system is ready for Bluetooth.

Option 2:
Get your systems HMM (Hardware Maintenance Manual) at the IBM/Lenovo page and take a look under your keyboard. There will the Modemcard be located, and under it eventually the Bluetooth-Antenna.

T43/p HMM

recommended option is number 1 :!:
now mine: T42 2373-VMH - 1.5 GB RAM, 60 GB HDD, BT, WLAN, SXGA, 9cell
