Problem with Access Connections and Intel 2200BG

I am having a problem that occurs only intermittently, usually when changing locations, I get an error that the Access Connections and 2200BG driver versions don't match and the wireless modem can't be turned on. I get this without changing anything on the system.

I am using AC 3.71 and the intel 9.0.1.21 driver. A reinstall of Access Connections make the thing work again, but its a pain. Also, Fn-F5 gives the same error on startup and doesn't show the wireless card, only the Bluetooth modem.
