LCD color in T43 1871-16A
I used T42 2373C88 (Cisco's laptop) for a while and was really impressed about its LCD and performance. So, I bought my own thinkpad and I chose T43 1871-16A. Overall, there's not much difference from T42, but I have the big problem in LCD issue.
I researched in the web and found that these 2 thinkpads use the same XGA TFT LCD, but T42 use RADEON 7500 while T43 use INTEL 915. The problem is "color tone" is different. I don't know how to compare it to you. It seems like the T42 color tone is better to my eye, but in T43 the color is dim, gray-like in the menu bar, making me dizzy. At first I thought it is because the graphic chip, but I found one of the thinkpads using RADEON 7500 has the same problem. Later, I think it may result from LCD type. But in the web, it says that both use the same type.
The question is:
Do you think this problem happens because LCD type that I can't fix it unless buying a new one or I can use new color profile or whatever to fix this problem.
Thanks a lot,

If you don't have it yet, you might want to download and install the Monitor File for Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP - ThinkPad General.
Also make sure you are using native XGA resolution and the maximum color depth available. Right-click on an open area of the desktop and choose: Properties > Settings, and make sure choices are 1024 X 768 Screen resolution and Highest (32 bit) Color quality.
EDIT: Also verify that you have the latest video driver. Video driver (Intel 900 - 910GML/915GM) for Windows 2000/XP - ThinkPad R52 (18xx), T43 (18xx), X41, X41 Tablet, Z60m, Z60t

Usually, in Desktop Properties -> Settings -> Advanced you can set various options of the video device, among which you can play with the colors. All dedicated solutions from ATi and nVidia have this option, and I can only hope for you that the Intel integrated solution also allows you to tweak the colors in the drivers.
