automatic wallpaper change

i am running xp on a t43. 2668-76u with omega drivers for a long time now.

yesterday my system changed its wallpaper to the IBM timeline one. I thought someone must have done it while i wasnt looking. But later I found out that everytime i change wallpaper it just changes back if i put it in standby. so any walllpaper i put it just switches back to the IBM one after standby. i dont know what to do. reinstalled/replaced display drivers(factory and omega) also tried reinstalling power manager. dont know what is happening!

Wow, that is strange.
Have you checked MSCONFIG startup items for a program that might do this?

it happens only with standby and hibernate
not with shutdown and log off. also the wallpaper change is accompanies by color depth reduction even when I have that feature turned off/

i have no clue what is happening.

btw i checked msconfig.
looks clean
