Best place to buy a battery for Canadians.

I believe this topic has been mentioned before but is there a good place to buy batteries that also delivers to Canada?

I don't live in Canada, but what about Newegg? I'll leave any investigating up to someone else who lives in Canada.

:( newegg.com doesn't deliver to Canada... Should I just buy it from IBM then? Total is like $257 CDN ($218 US) for a 9 cell.

Places like TigerDirect and Ecost ship to Canada, but I don't know if you'll be saving anything,

I hope someone finds an answer soon... my mind is boggling at the thought of a nation full of stalled citizens who batteries have gone flat!

Cheers,

Bill

Have any friends/relatives in the USA? Perhaps they will ship you one. Dunno if Bill ships to Canada, but I suspect he does.

I'm in Canada. The only place I've found is to buy generic batteries off ebay.

I bought one of the generic ones with LG cells, 6-cell and it has had already 20 cycles and I'm still within 1.5 Whr from spec. Very good battery, and at about 1/3 of the price, you can't lose.

You can find ones shipped from the US from $55 Cdn without shipping, but there is one seller in BC who sells them for $70 Cdn. So I guess both will end up being the same price when you take into consideration extra shipping and import taxes.

I agree with chris-ee. My thinking is that at $50 for a generic battery, I can afford to go wrong twice before getting into the same price range as a regular branded battery.

I just bought a generic battery for my wife's R31 off of a Canadian seller on eBay. I received the battery 2 days after I made the payment. As it turns out, my wife tells me that she gets 3 hrs 20 minutes with this generic battery even with the wireless radio on which is as good as the spec on the original IBM part. For me, I think that is $50 well spent even if the battery only lasts 6 months. The seller has great feedback and deals mainly in laptop batteries.
