Corrupted T-23 Bios

#1 Post by FW » Sun Oct 30, 2005 8:56 am

I own a T23 (2647 4JU) with wireless. Nothing seems to detect the wireless adapter. I believe I have somehow corrupted the bios. Does anyone know of a way to reflash the T23 bios?

Following is the driver matrix page for the T23. To flash the BIOS you need a floppy drive and a spare floppy disk. You also need a fully charged battery, and the laptop has to be connected to AC power. It is necessary for the floppy drive to be in the boot sequence before the hard drive, although it may be possible to remove the hard drive, to force boot-up from the floppy drive.

Download the BIOS update from Software and Device Drivers - ThinkPad T22, T23 and with the disk in the floppy drive, execute the file you downloaded. Power off the computer, then reboot with the floppy drive attached and the BIOS update diskette in it. Follow the instructions.

Note: If you really did corrupt the BIOS where it won't boot-up from the floppy drive, then you need a new system board.
