Time to buy?
I've decided to order the T42. Is there a best time (of month) to place an order - price wise? I'm not in any rush. Is there any deal that IBM offers that is particularly good - battery? vs software?
New thinkpad offerings
Thanks for the quick reply- I will keep my eye on the "deals". I have noticed this November that they are really pushing the T43 and the T42s are actually more expensive. Trying to decide between different models seems incredibly confusing - several offer the same configuration to my eyes, but apparently are different enough to be different prices. Right now I am thinking about the
T42 2379 RFU - 512/60 - CD/DVD; Fingerprint.
If I did choose this model I have several accessories - battery/office/adaptor - added 512 RAM
Any recommendations?
Better deals likely in December as was recommended - or am I splitting hairs.
Thanks

Re: New thinkpad offerings
if u are in Canada...there is a deal on for the RFU for $1399.00 Cdn! Call Lenovo Canada and reference BUNDLE # 5WTE324...Pretty sweet deal if you ask me!alison wrote:Thanks for the quick reply- I will keep my eye on the "deals". Time to buy
Allison, my advice: hurry up... I think the T sereies they are selling now are the latest IBM produced, Lenovo´s surely will be cheaper, and even with more bells and whistles but with lower quality.[/quote]

Why would it be lower quality? They're using the same facilities. Also, the T's already have "Lenovo" stickers on the bottom of them instead of IBM. Atleast my friend's did.

Time to buy - warranty changing for IBM
Its interesting you brought up quality - has anyone else noticed that the warranty is more commonly 1 year instead of a standard 3 year. Do you think that this reflects a change is quality or is it Levono trying to match other laptop prices?
I appreciate the feedback
