Notebook Stand

I'm looking for a notebook stand that will accomodate my T43 with attached port replicator II to lift it off my desk and raise the lcd to eye level. I noticed that Lenovo/IBM introduced something called the ThinkPad Adjustable Notebook Stand (model 40Y7676). Has anyone tried this? Alternatively, has anyone tried another similiar product?

After pocking around the Lenovo website some more, I think that the Adjustable Notebook Stand is designed most specifically to accomodate the new Z60 with or without the Z60 mini dock or port replicator. I think that it will "hold the T43 on the ledge" but not while it is in the port replicator II. Note that apparently the Z60 has a different dock and port replicator than the T's.

So, I don't think that the Lenovo Adjustable Notebook Stand is a good solution to my problem, but I would still much appreciate anyone's suggestion to a good alternative for my T43.

This is more of a hack-job solution, but it makes a bit of difference ergonomically speaking: I place a 3-ring binder (1.5") under the Thinkpad, with the spine of the binder at the back of the notebook...it serves to elevate the screen as well as increase the angle of the keyboard at the same time. I'm not sure if this would work with the port replicator, but it's a very inexpensive solution to try out. Give it a shot and let me know what you think

For raising the angle of the keyboard and still enable typing, the port replicator or a binder would do the same thing. I use an external keyboard, so i really just want to raise the lcd unit and possible free space underneath the stand to put my external keyboard when I'm not using it. Griffin makes something called the I-Curve (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/icurve/) that does this for macs, but I don't think it would work with a TP w/ port replicator attached. Has anyone tried an I-Curve with a TP?

If cost is not an issue, then go for it...it's completely compatible with Thinkpads and will do exactly what you want. However, I'm sure there are much cheaper alternatives out there, that might perform much the same function but lack the complete compatibility as the product above. Let us know if you get it (do a little review in the general/hardware or pictures section )

How does this ThinkPad Adjustable Notebook Stand actually work? In other words, does it hold Thinkpad @ 45* angle with keyboard being at that angle as well? Or is there something tricky about it?

The adjustable notebook stand specifically attaches to the Z60 docks and holds the computer to those docks. The info guide says that you can use it with other TP's, but not with any dock or port recplicator. In this case, it seems that the TP just sets on the ledge which, as andrey, pointed out, isn't too appealing.

I also saw a generic Targus product that is similiar, but is like $120 (the Ergo-D Notebook Stand.

I might just go with a simple monitor stand.
