Replacement?

#1 Post by user101 » Thu Nov 03, 2005 10:29 am

My t43 has been getting really hot on idle lately. It keeps idling in the 50s and can easily reaches 80c when doing anything that uses the CPU at max performance. I have the accidental damage protection and the 3 year warranty. If I call IBM, do you think the could send me a T42 replacement or a T43 with less heat issues? I bought my T43 2686-DGU back in August so its been past 30 days.

call their post sales line and try it if representative won't agree to replace it ask to talk to a supervisor, they would replace it.

They have done in past so they should be able to do it again. but only if you insists for supervisor and be patient then yes ...

Dunno what country you are in .. but generally speaking the warranty coverage is repair .. not replace. Also, my T43 runs roughly those same temps at those same states .. high 40s and mid 70s.
