does anyone have issues with ssh 3.2.9 and t42?

I recently downloaded SSH 3.2.9 onto my TP and Im having this really wierd problem with the shell. For some reason I can't backspace or delete using the keys on my keyboard while using the SSH client. I was wondering if anyone else has run into similar issues? I have already tried the keymapping options such as backspace is delete and delete is backspace, etc. But I can't get it to work, people that i have been talking to have been saying that it may be a hardware issue with the keyboard emulation not working correctly in the shell, does anyone know of a fix for this?
