Long Pause after Unlock

#1 Post by xmetal2001 » Sun Nov 06, 2005 5:46 pm

I'm having a problem w/ my T43.

Whenever I unlock the computer w/ the fingerprint scanner it will accept the fingerprint, then sit at my wallpaper for about 3 minutes before showing anything. During this time there is no harddrive activity and the cursor moves around just fine.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Hmmm, that doesn't seem to be a problem since I can resume with it and still be connected...it could be a background process that is doing quite a bit of work

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

That's what I was thinking because it hasn't always done this, but I can't seem to find anything that could be a culprit running in the background.

Update: I think I figured it out, there were a couple McAfee Virus Scan services running even though I told it not to start up(it was causing issues). Manually killed them and the problem seems to be gone.
