Fuzzy in display

#1 Post by blakeam » Wed Nov 09, 2005 12:49 am

I have noticed that there is a fuzzy spot in the display since getting it back from repair of motherboard from IBM. It looks like a piece of lint between the backlight and lcd. is there a write up on taking the screen apart to remove this? or is it better to send back to IBM to repair. its the T42 2379-DXU model. Thanks.

You can take the screen apart, maybe the LCD; but these tasks are not for the faint of heart...or mind for that matter. I do remember someone here saying that you could take apart the LCD...Yet this is an *EXTREMELY* delicate operation...you could add more dust than you take out.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Personally I'd send it back due to the delicate nature of the screen and the plastic that supports it. Since it just came back from repair you might be better off telling them about it and if they screwed up you may get a new LCD out of the deal. :?:  :?:
