Memtest-86 scores on 2373H6U, please advise

#1 Post by aamsel » Thu Nov 10, 2005 12:57 am

I am getting what appear to be very low memory speed results reported by Memtest-86 v3.2. This system (2373H6U) is a Pentium M 1.8GHz, and it is running at the maximum CPU speed on a/c power with the battery removed. I have triple-verified in the BIOS that it is running at maximum CPU speed.

Anyhow, it reports:

Pentium M (0.9) 1798 Mhz (which is correct)

Settings : RAM: 99Mhz (DDR198) / CAS : 2.5-3-3-10

That just seems WAY slower than the memory should be running at.

If anyone has this system, or any T42 running at 1.8GHz (or close to it) and can run a floppy or CD of Memtest-86 and post what they get for their RAM speed and timings, I would GREATLY appreciate it !!!!!

Thanks very much!!

With a 1.7GHz P-M T42 and memtest86 (v3.2), I get the same settings info.

With memtest86+ (v1.6), I get 165MHz (DDR330) / CAS: 2.5-3-3- , which seems correct.
memtest86+ is available at www.memtest.org

Using Memtest86 v1.65 I get same info, CAS 2.5-3-3- @ 166 Mhz

CPU-Z and Sandra 2005 read the memory setttings at CAS 2.5-3-3-8 @ 166 mhz, no problems there

Yes, I also was able to use Sandra 2005 to verify that everything is running as it should be.

Thanks!
