Quicktime Sound

#1 Post by jjfcpa » Sun Nov 13, 2005 11:06 am

I installed Quicktime 7.0 for Windows and unfortunately the sound on my T43p is so low, I can barely hear it. I've uninstalled and re-installed Quicktime and still get the same results.

Any ideas?

I take it you've gone to Control Panel> Sounds and Audio Devices and clicked on the "Advanced" button on the Volume tab? That brings up the various volumes. Play with them while you're trying to get sound out of QuickTime.

I also had a very low volume even after adjusting per the instructions of mtroxel. I fixed this by using the raise volume/lower volume buttons at the top of the keyboard, just to the right of the "Access IBM" key.

Have you tried the little Speaker Sound Icon in the Taskbar? Open it, while playing some music, and then increase the "Wave" vloume to your liking. the Thinkpad sound buttons seem to just control the standard volume. ;) :)

Fixed it! It was the volume setting in the Control Panel - Sound, and then clicked on the Volume button. For some reason the volume was set near the bottom so adjusting the volume anywhere else had no effect. Not sure how this happened, because usually, the volume is set near the highest level on a new computer.

Oh well, it's working now. Thanks guys.
