Fan issue with T42 and 7500 card?

I have reviewed prior posts and am still confused whether t42 and 7500 graphics card = fan noise problem. Posts indicate that the T42/7500 combo uses the "short" fan which poses the problem in the T41.

My question is whether this problem carries over to the T42? Does anyone have actual experience with this combo?

PS? I am asking because I currently use XGA resolution on an aging TP 570 (13") and am happy with the readability. I think SVGA+ -- without font adjustment -- on a 14" would be too small. I know I can enlarge the fonts in windows, but many posters suggest this is a poor compromise. I'd move to the T42/9600 if I am wrong on this.
