How do I stop monitor from dimming on battery?
How do I stop monitor from dimming on battery?
When I unplug the power cord and go to battery the screen dims a bit. Is there a way to keep it to the same brightness it was when it was plugged in?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Well, you can go Fn+PgUp or Fn+PgDn...but that should be controlled through a Power Management Profile; if not, you can make your own to suit your needs

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

There's a setting in BIOS for screen strength. On mine, it's Normal, and HIGH (default is normal).
Check your Power Manager software, you can control ALL this stuff. Online help (Access IBM) button can explain it all far better than I. ;)

Just go to Start/All Programs/Access IBM/Thinkpad Configuration and then menu item Display/LCD.
change the setting under "Brightness when running on batteries" to "high"

Frankly, you're better off just going into Power Manager and setting the same (preferred) brightness setting (1 - 7) for both plugged in and on battery. Then it won't dim on you.
If you want to change it, you can simply adjust the brightness, or load another power manager config.
Simpler than rebooting and changing that BIOS Battery-Sucker....
