ThinkPad T41p screen - advise needed!

Hi,

I am wondering if I should complain about the screen of my newly acquired T41p. I run the screen at the standard resolution (1400 x 1050).

If I set up a completely white background, and turn the brightness all the way up, the left and right side of the display seems a tiny bit darker than the rest of the screen – it’s like the white is a little dirty and slightly reddish in tone. It’s a little more pronounced on the left side, but only slightly.

It’s only visible with a 100% purely white background. Red, green or blue backgrounds are completely uniform in colour.

I don’t remember seeing this on my previous T41. However the T41p does have a higher resolution (e.g. another display panel), so this might be the reason – or maybe I just did not notice before

Not a big issue – I just need to know if it’s normal.

Just found another post the describes the "problem": http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=1327. It seems to be normal.
