T43 Modem

#1 Post by Surfmog » Mon Nov 21, 2005 4:55 pm

My company just gave me a T43. I used to have a T21. Under the T21 I entered the following modem init string AT&FS37=9 to force the modem to connect only at 9600 baud.

I'm not having much luck with the T43 with or without this init string. Does anyone have any thoughts as how to get this T43 to connect only at 9600 baud? I've gone through HyperTerm and check 9600 as well as 9600 through the Modem Control Panel.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks Thomas

Well, I think this will work

Open up the Thinkpad Configuration Program, then click on Modem Properties...That should bring up the Device Manager. Then click on "Device Properties" ; that will bring up the info on the Modem. Next, click the Modem tab, from there you will see a box where you can set the speed of the modem. It should be set at 115200 be default. You can set it to 9600 Baud and click OK. That should work :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Been there. Done that.

Modem still connects at various speeds usually 19200, 22000 or 24000
