Screensaver and fingerprint

#1 Post by herbertw » Tue Nov 22, 2005 8:10 pm

Does anyone know, why the fingerprint software sometimes does not work with the screensaver (I had some installs, where it worked, while in others fingerprint software gives its "ok", while XP still needs the password of the user...)?

Has the fingerprint software replaced the usual unlock dialog? Mine works fine, but Windows hasn't presented the conventional unlock dialog. The fingerprint utility replaces the usual Windows security dialogs. HTH...

Did you activate the "fast user switch"?

I have seen the XP Login Screen with the FPR Ability on it...I just don't know how to do it; the FPR software disables Fast User Switching by the way.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

My screen saver doesn't even prompt me for a password or fingerprint. I'm letting fingerprint software handle all my login stuff.

This is despite me ticking the password box, and CSS security audit telling me to do the same.

Seems kinda pointless if you ask me.

[update]
Windows screen saver now mysteriously works with fingerprinting software. Maybe windows just needed a restart or something, but it now locks the station after screen saver.
