Wallpaper keeps reverting when using Presentation Director

#1 Post by kendalf » Sat Nov 26, 2005 1:28 pm

On my T42, I've noticed that when I use Presentation Director to switch back to my default display scheme, it always reverts my desktop wallpaper back to the default Windows wallpaper. This doesn't happen when I use PD to switch from default to a different scheme, only when I try to revert back to my default display settings. It also doesn't happen when I use Windows Display properties to switch display resolutions. Has anyone else run into this issue, and found a way to prevent this from happening? I don't want to have to manually change my wallpaper every time I do a powerpoint presentation!

This has been happening to me lately, too. I think, when I'm hibernating or something. I've found that saving all my settings into a Theme file (first tab of XP's Display properities) and saving icon location (yep, that gets screwed up too) with Multires, restores things to normal.

The Presentation Director theme "My Normal Display Settings" itself saves the wallpaper (manually) to restore it later.. I suggest you make a new theme, put your default settings in there, don't specify a background, and you're done.

Here is another thing you can do.

Just capture the setting. Open the presentation director and point it to the default setting and click capture. It will save your desktop back.ground.

It work for me.
