T43 Pulsating Fan Problem

Bought my T43 a month ago and two weeks ago its fan started behaving strange. Was browsing the web and found a thread that best describes the fan problem with my T43:

"When running on power, the fan is almost constantly ON.
When the fan is on, it doesn't make a constant sound. It does something
like:

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Hmph brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Hmph brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Hmph ...........

the 'brrrrr' is a quiet soft sound, the 'Hmph' is a small bump in the sound, not something metalic or anything BAD, just that the fan makes a stronger sound for about half a second, something noticeable when you're working on it at 3AM and there's total silence."

Is this a common problem with T43s? Does it require any tech attention (should I send it to Lenovo to fix it) or it is something harmless? Is there a way to get rid of this strange noise?

I'd appreciate any advise you can give on this,

It's a common problem. No fix known afaik.

There is a fix (or at least a workaround), and it's mentioned in that page, explained in the EC 0x2F specs ThinkWiki page, and implemented by the Linux fan control script.

I should have clarified. No known fix for XP yet

(Maybe I'll try your approach in my Fan Control at a later point).
