New Thinkvantage Password Manager a dud?

#1 Post by Botham » Mon Nov 28, 2005 5:55 am

I upgraded my T42p to ThinkVantage Client Security Solution 6.00.0027.00 and find that the Password Manager does not work on more than 50% of forms that used to work.

Dragging the cross hatch to an empty form field does absolutely nothing (i.e. can't drag and drop a username or password into a form.)

The bad is that the previous IBM version had no problem with the same forms.

I also tried uninstalling the CSS completly and starting from scratch but same problem.

I find this very annoying as logging into sites is a big part of my day.

Does anyone else have this problem. i.e. if you are using CSS 6.0 can you drag and drop a username and password into this popular website control panel?

http://plesk754.demo.sw-soft.com:8443/

or something even more popular:

https://www.google.com/adsense/

I can't drop a username in either of the above using CSS 6.0 Password Manager.

Would appreciate any feedback. Is it just me?

Umm... Does anyone here use the password ThinkVantage Password Manager?

Can you drag the cross hair onto the form at right:
https://www.google.com/adsense/

or does it fail.

Would love to know if I am the only one who can't....

Works for me, but I am not using 6.0. Did you backup all your passwords and prompts before you upgraded to the new version of the Password Manager?

Using it, but using the version I installed a month ago ... don't know the version # off hand, but suspect it's the current one.

I find that it works with the few sites and programs that I use it with, with the exception that putting an ENTER at the end of a password works with web sites, but NOT Word password-protected files.

I have one question about the CSS. My version is also 6.0. The latest one. When I log in Windows, the CSS will pop up the password window. Sometime, the window will come up, but sometime it doesn't. I don't know why it doesn't always come up. Strange!

It depends on what you have CSS setup for. Is the window that pops up the UVM Initial Authentication Window?

Same problem here Botham. I find this version quite useless as I'm having problems with the software storing any login and password information.

I think I'll revert to the older version and e-mail lenovo about this.
