Yellowish tint?

#1 Post by Nabeel » Thu Jul 08, 2004 11:42 pm

I just had my T42 side by side with my LCD monitor, and I've noticed the colors are a little off...like whites have a yellowish tint to them? Anyone else notice this?

My T41p has a reddish tint (on white brakground) - especially near the sides.

I do a lot of digital photography--screens as they come are never close to right, and I've readjusted the color on every computer I use.

You can do it with display properties if you dig deeply enough. I'm assuming this is an overall color problem, not the localized one the person above is talking about.

Are you sure that your other computer isn't too blue? --that's the way they usually are, and it would make the IBM "look" yellow when they're next to each other. Usually people don't mind the blue, since it looks cleaner, but it's not right if you're doing something critical.

Anyway, it's all adjustable, if it's an overal color cast, not just in one corner of the screen. Go to the control panel/display/settings/advanced/color and fiddle around.

Yeah, I'm gonna fiddle around with it. I don't think it's the other LCD, because on that, gray actually looks gray. My laptop looks a better blue-er. But that's ok. I'll fiddle around, thanks

I believe that Adobe Photoshop 6.0 (not sure about CS as I haven't used it since I'm STILL looking inbetween couch cushions) has a very good LCD color monitor/adjuster that comes with the program (I forget what it's called since I don't have Photoshop on my computer anymore).

The photoshop accessory is pretty good, but I've found it more controllable to just dig in and do it directly.
