T42 upgrade graphics?

Is it possible to upgrade the graphics on my Thinkpad T42, im currently trying the Vista OS and would like to try out the "Aero" interface. Currently the Radeon 7500 will not let me do so.

Absolutely no way to do so. It's soldered on the motherboard.
T43 (2687-DUU) - 1.86GHz, 1.5GB RAM, 100GB 5400 (non IBM-firmware Hitachi 5k100) HD, Fingerprint Scanner, 802.11abg/Bluetooth, ATI x300

Would a change of motherboard solve that? I too find that my X300 GPU is lacking.

I believe the T4x and T4x/p Mobo's are interchangable... but that's a bit of work. Not sure how much else would be involved. You can bet that voids any warranty.

Replace T42 motherbord to T43
