hi, i have tried to install ATI catalyst in order to control my ati x300 graphic processibility and had a greater performance.

Yet, i failed to install it.

anyone is using ATI catalyst to control the ati graphic performance, or is it a handy graphic control panel to my ati??

Please advise.... thanks

Which version did you install?

my ATI x300 driver version is 6.14.10.6497

In my personal experience, I've been having hit-or-miss experiences with the ATI Catalyst drivers.

I've tried 5.09, 5.10, 5.11 (Mobility versions), 5.09,5.10 Catalyst (either modded, or Omega versions), and not all of them really work on my T43 (from hibernating BSODs to not loading the .icc profiles on my system).

So far, the one that works perfectly for me is the ATI Catalyst Mobile 5.09.

PS: And don't ever use the Windows Update version, it crashes systems..

oh, you are right.
i even can't get the mobility 5.11 installed on my T43.

You need install Microsoft .net framework1.1 before you install ATI CCC Driver.

Install Microsoft .net framework1.1 and try again!

.net framework 1.1 is already installed. yet, it failed to install catalyst

OK, the things is more complicated than my imagining.

You can try these two ways to solve this problem.

1. Use Uninstall Tools to uninstall previous ATI drivers (you can found it on ATI official web)

2. reinstall OS.

haha,

Need to reformat the hard drive just want to try out this particular Ati Catalyst software... oh it sounds funny.

Anyway, can anyone else tell me that is this software useful ?

I was under the understanding that you couldn't install the OEM ATi Catalyst drivers on the Thinkpads. Even though it supports the x300, some notebook versions are locked out so that the respective 3rd pty company (IBM/Lenovo) can control the distribution of drivers.

In anycase, do a search for "Omega Drivers" and use those. They are essentially the Catalyst drivers, modded a little for performance and also unlocked.

I use them just fine.
