Hey..
My T43 just arrived today..It was made between 11/21st and 11/23rd. It looks great!!! However, today..I had some issues with it. It made some buzzing noises. I resolved this issure by upgrading all the BIOS, programs, drivers and etc. I don't know which one did the trick but it got resolved. No more buzzing noises. I used the update function from Access IBM. Also for your information the new T43 with 60G 7200rpm has 7K100 HDDs not 7K60. Here's the number. HTS721060G9AT00. I think it is flawless. But think a little tight on space.
Can someone send me a link where I can download that software which I can monitor CPU temperature and change the voltages and things? I forgot the name of it. Cheers!!

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Chris, in your opinion, is that program a "must-have"?

A "Must-Have?" *shrugs* It really depends on what you want to do. I like the SMART tools that are integrated with it that allow you to check you HDD now and then. It also gives you control over the Hard Drive Disk and its spin down states far better than Windows does. If you want to, you can undervolt using it (there are other programs you can do that with, but this is the best IMO), and, if you want, you can save on power with the ATI Chipset. You can download it and play around with it for awhile; it doesn't take up that much as a system service and it is nice to check the temperature of the CPU and other parts of the system as well. There are also standalone versions of the SMART System that you can get as well. I would recommend it if you like to keep tabs on your system as well as tweak some stuff out. You don't really need to worry about all that much though if you aren't pushing you Thinkpad to the limits. HTH
