English Keyboard w/Foreign Lettering
Hi all,
I know IBM has foreign language keyboards. I'm thinking of getting one solely because I want the foreign language key stickers on there as opposed to putting them on myself.
My only question is how the hardware interacts with my T42. Is it the same as the English keyboard (english being the default as is in Windows) and when I hit the hotkey (alt+shift) it will just switch to the foreign language and use those keys? Or is it something more than just different keycaps on the keyboard
Thanks.

Re: English Keyboard w/Foreign Lettering
You simply plug the new keyboard in, and tell Windows (or the OS of your choice) which keyboard layout you're using. After that you'll get the whatever character is printed on the keyboard, no hotkeys necessary.admsteiner wrote:My only question is how the hardware interacts with my T42. akeskira, thanks.
MrStaticVoid, I assume you'll need the FRU part number and then call up IBM. For keyboards it seems to be

I always wondered if people actually get faster typing speeds with Dvorak...I never bothered to learn it.MrStaticVoid wrote:Jeez! Everyone seems to ignore Dvorak keyboards! Come on IBM.admsteiner wrote:akeskira, thanks.

Oops.
To answer your question admsteiner, yes I do get better typing speeds in Dvorak than I ever did in QWERTY.
<sarcasm>IBM sure is good at "globalizing e-business".</sarcasm> Oh well, no biggie.
