PCI is translated as Peripheral Components Interconnect. It is an interface that has been around for a long time. The common version operates at 33Mhz. Most of the PC peripherals of the last few years are made with PCI interface. PCI Exp. is relatively new interface that comes in several variations designated as X16, x4, x1. The larger number indicates higher bandwidth. X16 is pretty much reserved for graphics cards. The older graphics were disigned with AGP interface as 8X, 4X, 2X denoting the bandwidth of the card.
