HDD Hitachi travelstar locked on T40

Hi,

I have a hitachi travelstar 40Go IC25N040ATCS05 locked. Of course date stored are important for me. I've been looking for a few weeks how to recover or unlock it. I found the password (written somewhere) but it's still locked.

Any idea?

It may be that the supervisor or administrator password is still set. Failing that, and if the password you found does not work, it is probably then a wrong password...

In fact it's a password I set, forgot and recovered after having locked hte hdd! I'm sure of this pwd. I don't know it the locking process set a different pwd and set the administrator's one to a random (or pre-defined) pwd, or if it's set to my recovered pwd (hope i'm clear).
