I have been looking at a few models and I can't find a difference between them except for the price.
I have a 2668A1U and a 2686E7U configured to the same exact specs.
Pentium M Processor 750 (1.86GHz 2MB L2 533MHz FSB)
14.1 inch SXGA+ (1400x1050) TFT Display
512MB PC2-4200 CL4 NP DDR2
64MB ATI Mobility Radeon X300
60GB 7200rpm Hard Drive
ThinkPad Multi-Burner 4X Max DVD
Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Mini PCI Adapter
ThinkPad T40/R50 Series 9 Cell Li-Ion Battery
ThinkPad UltraBay Slim Li-Polymer Battery - in case of emergency
The 2668A1U is $1806.00
The 2686E7U is $1921.00
Does any one know the difference between these two?
Do they both have the expresscard slot?
Do you know of a model with the same specs that has bluetooth?
Thank you for your help...I hope to figure this out and be an owner soon.
Buying a T43 and have a few questions
I don't know about exact same specs (check the TABOOK on that one), but, I just got a 2687 DSU for just under $2K from CDW. It differs from your models as follows:
1) Includes Bluetooth
2) Pentium M 760 (2 GHz) rather than 750
3) 80 GB 5400 RPM HDD
Hope this helps. Incidentally, I've found that the express models are, for some reason, several hundred dollars cheaper than their standard counterparts (there is a standard model identical to the 2687 DSU in every respect except it costs $400 more).

Are these custom configured models? I seem to recall the Lenovo site uses a special MTM (machine type-model) for those. Someone correct me if my memory fails..... ,:) In which case, you will need to look over TABOOK for the basic MTM you're building on. I believe the 2686 and 2668 (which I have) have BT optional (all you need is a modem/BT CDC installed), but there are some models that may not have the antenna leads in them (in which case, you need the card, and the antennae ... a more involved installation procedure).
Both have the ExpressCard slot, as near as I can tell.
In any case, the TABOOK will help you see exACTly what's in each box, more so than most purchase sites.
