Request for custom Pixel Program (Shimodax?)
Request for custom Pixel Program (Shimodax?)
The success of Shimodax's fan control program got me thinking about another utility I think some members on this board would appreciate. So if anyone can write one I would appreciate it.
Problem:
I have an X41 with one 'red' stuck/dead pixel. It is quite annoying as its is visible quite a bit and close to the center of the screen.
I have tried the program to flash changing colors continously without success and I have tried massaging the pixel also without success.
Custom program request:
What I would like is a program (VB6?) that will load during setup and position a 'user-selected color' over the pixel (ex. x,y coordinate?), and keep its position regardless of what other programs/windows are active.
Notes:
I have found that when I am in Internet Explorer, I cannot see the red pixel 'behind' it under certain conditions. In IE, I can see the red pixel when positioned under the blue IE header bar, however when I have the red pixel position under forum.thinkpads.com grey/white background, the red pixel is hidden.
I guess this might mean that I will be covering up a red pixel with a grey pixel (is there such a thing?), but to me that's more acceptable than a glaring red pixel.
Is this a good idea? will it work?

vpn-user,
I appreciate the effort. Your link goes to the .mp4 file that can be played continously in hopes that it 'fixes' the bad pixel. In my original notes, I mentioned that I had already tried this with no success.
The program that I am proposing should allow you to set a color in 1 pixel coordinate (ex. x,y coordinate) to help 'cover' up the bad red pixel.

Exactly, I was thinking about such a program awhile ago. It would be feasible, but only during medium activity and not while one was playing an OpenGL intensive game or what have you.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Argh, I posted the wrong link! I meant this one:

The program is linked in the first post.
Since the program is in german, you should translate it using babelfish or something like that.
