Docking Station II T43 Audio Problem
Docking Station II T43 Audio Problem
Hi Everybody,
Is there a possibility to turn off the internal speakers of my T43 while it is staying in the docking station? I connected the docking station to my amplifier and the sound is ok, but the internal speakers are playing too. When I turn them off, the sound from the docking station is not working anymore.
Any suggestions?

Search this site for your answer. I've read several threads on this issue, but I don't remember if there were any other solutions.herbertw wrote:No other possibility?

Use the volume buttons on the laptop itself (to the left of the power button).
Turn the volume down all the way using them, as they just control the external speakers on the T43...not any of the outputs.
I've had my T43 hooked up to my stereo system like this for months & it works like a charm.

Using da keyboard customizer utility, you can map an external keyboard (if you use one on the Dock) to mute or lower the TP's volume, without having to use the buttons.
I find that if they're 2/3 of the way down, my desktop speakers just drown out the internal speakers.

Great! It works! No dummy required!cwestwater wrote:Yeah I have external speakers plugged into my Port Replicator. I turn the laptops volume down all the way (not muting) using the buttons on the TP and use the volume control on the actual speakers to adjust the volume.
Simple!
Thanks a lot!
