Battery Life

#1 Post by dc81 » Mon Dec 05, 2005 2:29 pm

Just a quick questions here. About 2 months ago I purchased a T41p refurb (in excellent condition) but the battery had 15 cycles on it. How many cycles can an average 9 cell battery have?

Depends on how many are put on it. :D

Actually, mine has 89 Cycles on it right now; it will be 90 Cycles by tonight. A Cycle refers to a discharge and recharge according to the thresholds set in the Power Manager. That doesn't always reflect the wear level of the battery though. A good thing to do is to get NHC and check the wear level of the battery. Just a note, don't try to fully discharge LiIon Batteries completely; that will increase the wear level quite significantly. I usually go down to around 5% if I need to use up all of the battery.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
