T41p Offered on e-bay

#1 Post by Mark01 » Sun Jul 11, 2004 3:23 am

Hallo,
It seems to me too good to be true, a new t41p with the following specs is offered on e-bay for only for 400 euro's.
http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 27357&rd=1
It seems very suspicious to me, has anybody experience with these kind of offers?

thnaks in advance,
Mark

Lots of fake TP offers in ebay PLEASE BE AWARE

#3 Post by v_parthi » Sun Jul 11, 2004 8:05 am

Hi,

Last week I saw an offer for 400 euros and got excited and place a bid for that. It ended up somehow around 2000 euros (even cheaper than original price), but somehow I didn't have the interest of tracking the bid and left it in the beginning itself (until 1200 euros). After 3 days of offer completion, I got an email from ebay which says 'somebody compromised the pwd of the original seller and used his username to post a bid. If he/she somehow contacts you to transfer money, please ignore it'. It seems the fake seller used a original user id of a big company somehow where it seems perfect including the address of the company. Somehow, the winning bid maker trapped the phone no. before transferring the money and delayed due to confusion on reliability. The fake fellow contacted few more next bidders to get money for that T41p . Yes you heard it right exactly the same T41p .

Please be aware. I don't complain on any genuine order though, which may or may not be true in your case!

I tried ebay for 3 months before giving up. T-series (and T41p in particular) are fraud magnets. Every auction I tried was a scam.
