Stuck pixel or something else ?

I have been getting some weird behaviour from my T. 42 screen lately. I've noticed two or three dark stuck pixels. They occur in random locations (not the same location each time), usually just one at a time. The unusual thing is upon restarting the computer the dark pixel always disappears.
Even more unusually today I noticed a black pixel (I examined it with a magnifying glass and it was definitely a completely black pixel in the screen) that was most visible against a white background. The unusual part was putting the white of the mouse pointer over the dead pixel caused it to immediately work normally, it stopped working again each time when the mouse pointer was taken away. This behaviour doesn't seem consistent with an ordinary stuck pixel problem.
Is it a video card or driver problem ? Can anyone explain this strange behaviour ? Any help or theories would be appreciated.

The system is a T 42 with a 64 MB 7500 card and SXGA 14.1 inch screen. It is a 1.70 MHz processor. I'm running Windows XP professional.

This is well documented behavior.

Click on the search button at the top of the page. Type 'ultranav' and 'pixel' (without the quotes) in the search pane, and choose: "Search for all terms". I just got 31 results. Take a look through the threads and you will see others that have observed this.

for future senerios stuck pixel is defined as a pixel that is always on or off. if the so called dark pixel changes area, then it's not stuck is it?

Sorry I should have searched the forum before posting. It looks like it's a minor software bug not a stuck pixel. Thanks to your help
